The sun is rising (or setting) over a peaceful and calm ocean accompanied by three free birds flying in the distance surrounded by an imperfect circle.
The sunrise is a representation of new beginnings, no matter where you are on your mental health journey to wellness, there is always room for growth. Each new day is filled with opportunity to take one step closer to your goals.
The sunset is a reminder that, what is done is done, and the closing of chapters. An essential part of growth and wellness is leaving the past behind you, good or bad, and focusing on your next day.
It was sunsets that taught me that beauty sometimes only lasts for a couple of moments, and it was sunrises that showed me that all it takes is patience to experience it all over again.

The colors that are found in the sunset have significant meanings also. The oranges and touches of reds are good for depression, negativity, trauma stress, grief, and loss. While also promoting:
- Self-esteem
- Optimism
- Strength
- Creativity
- Confidence
The ocean, which not only represents our hometown but also has a deeper meaning and is even often used in literature as a symbol of life and its hardships. When considering mental health, the ocean has calming principles, and there has also been a study, conducted by Amber L. Pearson at Michigan State, that ocean views are linked to better mental health.
The three birds flying are a representation of freedom and perspective. For those in recovery, birds, more specifically the Phoenix, are often used as a symbol because of the old tale where the Phoenix died in the fire but rose from the ashes 500 years later. Although the fire was destructive, it was the very thing that allowed the Phoenix to be reborn. In mental health wellness, many birds are used because of how they represent the liberation and peace many seek.
Lastly, the imperfect circle capturing everything. Circles represent so many different things from, wholeness and completeness, to self and the circle of life. The journey to any of these ideas is not always going to be a perfect one, but we intend to help in that process. The blue color chosen for the circle has meaning as well, representing trust, loyalty, wisdom, and confidence. Also, the color blue promotes calmness and serenity.
Who knew there could be so much meaning in such a little symbol!
